Guys..you don’t need a gym with heavy dumbbells to get big shoulders. That is why I am going to give you exercises on how to build bigger shoulders with light weights. I am going to give you a cool technique that will help you build more muscle mass fast. This is a quick workout that you can do, or you can just add these exercises to your shoulder workout. The key to this workout is using GIANT SETS. Giant sets are 4 or more exercises back to back without any rest in between exercises. This increases the time under tension in your muscles, which will produce more lactic acid. It also increases the intensity, putting more work on your muscles. Let’s get started with the exercises in this GIANT SET to build bigger shoulders with light weights.

Exercise #1: LATERAL RAISES. Keep a slight bend in your elbows, with a full range of motion. You do not need to bring the dumbbells above shoulder height. Utilize slow controlled movements, which will help with form and time under tension. You are going to do 10 reps of this exercise.

Exercise #2: BENT LATERAL RAISES. Hinge at the hips, and try to keep your back straight as you bend over. Make sure you are pulling the weight up, initiating the movement at the elbows. You do not want this movement to be more like a chest fly. Use your hands as anchors, initiate the movement at the elbow, and pull the dumbbells straight up. This will work your rear delts, and again aim for 10 reps.

Exercise #3: UPRIGHT ROW. Again, this is a small movement. Your elbows do not need to go above shoulder height. You are bringing the dumbbells and elbows out and up.

Exercise #4: OVERHEAD SHOULDER PRESS. You may need to increase the weight slightly for this exercise, since it is a push movement. Make sure to get a contraction at the top of the movement, and a good stretch at the bottom of the movement.

After the 4th exercise, rest for about 90 seconds then complete 2 more rounds. Aim for 3-4 rounds of this shoulder workout with light weights.
