Women’s Health, Sex Differences, Gender Differences

The Johns Hopkins Center for Women’s Health, Sex, and Gender Differences is a multidisciplinary Center considering not only women’s health, but also sex and gender differences in health and disease. The Center cultivates women’s health, sex, and gender research at Johns Hopkins through its programming, as well as research and training awards. The Johns Hopkins research portfolio in women’s health, sex, and gender research is exceptionally broad, with investigators addressing the complex and inter-related domains (e.g. from Gene to Society) that influence women’s health across the lifespan, with specific expertise in cancer, cardiovascular, gerontology, maternal and child, immunology, genetics, brain sciences, mental health, addictions, social determinants of health (e.g. violence/trauma, gender inequality, poverty) and health services research. Johns Hopkins has remarkable strengths, and women’s health, sex differences, and gender differences research has emerged as an integral component to multiple research and University initiatives to improve health and social outcomes locally and globally.
