👉🏾The DICTIONARY definition of diet is simply a pattern of eating over time. This is meant to be a NEUTRAL word, however, our society has turned this term into something else.🤦🏾‍♀️

Our society has assigned meaning to this word as any form of RESTRICTION (mental OR physical) of your food intake in an effort to lose/control your weight.🥺

Typically, we associate diets with formal meal plans and weight-loss products, however, you don’t need to be on a formal diet to be DIETING!🙅🏾‍♀️

👇🏾 Below are some words that signal that you may still be exhibiting diet behaviours, unknowingly:

➡️ Diet buzz words, like: superfoods, guilt free, earn, reward, clean eating, detox, challenge, restrict, approved food, good, bad food, low carb, low fat, quit sugar…. & the list goes and on, and on, and on!

There’s nothing inherently EVIL about any of these words but when we put them together in the context of food, it becomes tricky — and dangerous — because it negatively impacts our relationship with food.😭

One HUGE danger with dieting is that when we diet, we end up depriving our body of the nutrients we NEED to live our life to the fullest.🤯

I dieted for years, and let me tell you, sis! It doesn’t work, and it’s so NOT worth the physical and mental stress.🙅🏾‍♀️

Dieting is NOT what will make you healthier or happier, sis! 💜 💓
