Men Over 50 – Avoid These Exercises (REACH YOUR FITNESS GOALS!)

If you’re over 50 and you’re trying to build a better looking body… it’s not always about the exercises you do… you may also have to avoid certain exercises in order to build the body you want as fast as possible. So in today’s video I’ll show you what exercises to avoid to help keep you smooth sailing on your fitness journey.

Exercise #1: Low intensity cardio. Doing cardio will not help you lose fat. It certainly won’t help you build muscle. This includes long bike rides, jogging on the treadmill. It’s very time consuming and you don’t burn nearly as many calories as you think you are.

Exercise #2: Long Crossfit workouts. I don’t want to bash crossfit. It’s great when you’re younger. There’s competition built into it. But at our age, it can be too much for our body to recover from and extremely hard on our joints.

Exercise #3: Powerlifting. Unless you’re competing, you don’t need to be lifting a 600 lb barbell off the floor. It’s extremely taxing on the body and joints. A surefire way to get injured if you aren’t trained as a powerlifter.

So, what exercises should you do?

You want to focus on exercises that:

1) Help you build muscle

2) You can do them safely.

3) You can recover from.

And you want to be able to check off all three of these boxes every time you train. As you’ll see from the list I just went through, none of the exercises I mentioned check off all three boxes.
